MadameMadame Phyllis Latin
Founder and Director
Master Class Teacher • Consultant • Choreographer

Madame Phyllis Latin, founder and director of the American Dance Center, received the majority of her training under Hildegarde Fritche Lewis. She continued her ballet study with Obokov and Muriel Stuart at the School of American Ballet and furthered her dance knowledge by studying Modern dance under Norman Walker and Hanya Holm, and Jazz under Matt Mattox and Luigi.

Madame’s teaching experience spans over fifty years and includes serving as a member of the faculty at the National Music Camp, Interlochen, Michigan; the University of Michigan, and Albright College, Pennsylvania; and tutoring for the Dance Degree Program at Empire State College. Madame Latin also served as guest teacher for the Canadian Ballet Association and has taught master classes in dance throughout the country.

Madame Latin has been a choreographer for television, light opera and summer stock, along with touring Europe professionally.

Ann Adler
Instructor, Dancer

Ann Adler brings over 30 years of teaching experience to the staff of the American Dance Center. Her training includes the American Dance Center of Saratoga Springs, NY, with Phyllis Latin, the Royal Academy of Ballet in London, England, the Miami Conservatory, with teachers Thomas Amour and Robert Pike.  A summer at Interlochen Music Camp in Michigan, and Martha Mahr School of Ballet in South Miami, FL. Ann performed with the regional Miami Ballet Company and her professional experience includes the Milwaukee Ballet, Fusion Modern Dance and the Saratoga Ballet Companies.  She received her Associates degree from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.  Ann has taught Theater and Dance at the American Dance Center and in various private schools offering workshops to students of all ages.  Serving as Director, Choreographer and Costumer for both Theatre and Dance Productions throughout the Capitol region area, Ann’s enthusiastic teaching style and creative approach have made her a popular instructor for both young and old alike.
